CHICAGO, IL-National Taxpayers United of Illinois has endorsed Jeff Redick (R-Elmhurst) for re-election to the DuPage County Board. Redick was endorsed based on his commitment and his record of accomplishment in fighting taxes and his support for economic growth, according to Jim Tobin, President of Tax Accountability, the political action arm of National Taxpayers United of Illinois (NTUI).

“I have always been committed to protecting the taxpayers of DuPage County,” said Redick. “Now more than ever it is vitally important that county government live within its means and make sure that spending reflects the priorities of its citizens.”

Redick has been recognized as a fiscal watchdog since defeating a twenty year incumbent and being elected to the DuPage County Board in 2006. He worked to reduce the 2010 DuPage County budget by approximately $30 million. As a result, DuPage County actually lowered its property tax levy last year. Further, Redick was instrumental in developing and implimenting a new budget presentation, review and public hearing policy that has significantly increased public input in the budget process.

NTUI is the largest taxpayer protection organization in Illinois with over 30,000 members and supporters. NTUI was founded in 1976 and since that time has helped Illinois citizens save over $88 billion in income and property taxes at the state and local levels.

“I am truly honored to receive the NTUI endorsement,” said Redick. “Unfortunately, all too many people run for office and give nothing more than lip service to the taxpayers. This recognition lends credibility to the fight that I have been waging on behalf of the good people of DuPage County District 2 for the last four years.”

Redick’s district includes all, or parts, of Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, Westmont, Downers Grove, Lisle, Glen Ellyn, Woodridge, Elmhurst, Villa Park, Oakbrook Terrace, Oak Brook and Lombard.
