About Jeff

Jeff Redick has honorably served the people of District 2 since being elected as their representative to the DuPage County Board in 2006.

Jeff ran for the DuPage County Board on a promise to provide unequaled transparency in county government and incorporate common sense budget strategies for DuPage County. Since his election, he has worked hard to make good on those promises.

Immediately upon his election to the Board, Jeff began working on the passage and implementation of changes to the County Board Rules. The amended rules, which he was instrumental in passing, now require that five year budget and income projections be utilized in the budget process. They also include a reconfiguration of the Finance Comittee and impact statements for all new programming. Further, the changes provide for a more open and transparent budget process.

Based on his commitment to transparent and ethical government, Jeff was selected as chairman of the county’s Transparency and Government Accessibility Committee, the only committee of its kind in the state of Illinois. After a thorough review of county operations, Jeff authored a report which serves as the county’s roadmap for transparency.

Jeff is a partner in an Oak Brook civil defense law firm. In that capacity, he represents businesses, municipal entities, doctors and medical providers. Jeff understands the challenges facing DuPage County businesses and the importance of providing a strong community where businesses can flourish and their employees can live and raise a family.

Prior to joining his current firm, Jeff represented property taxpayers in real estate assessment appeals. As a result, he is familiar with taxing systems and assessments and understands the importance of maintaining equity in a system which does not overly burden families and businesses.

Jeff is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and Drake University Law. Jeff was recognized for his “excellent achievement in trial advocacy” at Drake Law School. He served as a student attorney at the Drake Legal Clinic, where he provided legal representation to elderly and indigent members of the community.

Jeff lives with his wife and three children in Elmhurst. He is an active member of the Yorkfield Presbyterian Church where he serves as a Trustee. He is a volunteer baseball coach, hockey coach, and Cub Scout leader. Since 2001, Jeff has served on the York Township Senior Advisory Board, which is charged with the responsibility of providing and evaluating services and programming for York Township senior citizens. He has served as the Board Chairman since 2005.

Additionally, Jeff serves on the Board of Directors of the Autism Legislative Project (ALP). ALP is a nationwide cooperative effort comprised of over 100 volunteer lawyers and law students. All are seeking to create a comprehensive body of legislative research suitable for use by local state and federal entities to better the lives of autistic individuals and their families through legislative reform.

In 2005, 2006 and 2009, Jeff was elected as moderator of the Annual York Township meeting. Further, he was chairman of the 2005 and 2009 York Township Republican caucuses. Jeff has been an elected Republican Committee Member since 1998. Currently, he is the Treasurer of the York Township Republican Committeeman’s Organization and in 2004 was honored as the Republican Committeeman of the Year.

Jeff is energetic and committed to providing the people of DuPage County with responsive, reliable representation on their County Board.
